You are in for a real treat. These biscuits are loved by everyone that's lucky enough to try them. Are they good for you? No. Do I feel bad about that? Also no.
Butter:
Butter is a "trade secret" in the restaurant industry. Ever wonder why you struggle to recreate food you tried in a restaurant? It's because you aren't adding enough butter.
Considerations:
Prep time: 15 minutes
Baking time: 45-50 minutes
Total time from start to finish: About an hour
What you need:
Food Items:
4 cups Flour
2 TBS + 2 tsp Baking Powder
2 TBS + 2 tsp Sugar
1 TBS Salt
3 1/2 cups buttermilk
2 Sticks Butter (1 cup)
NOTE: If you don't have buttermilk, you can make your own by adding 2 TBS white vinegar to 2 cups milk and letting it sit for about 5 minutes. Don't taste it, you'll regret it.
Equipment
9x13 baking pan
Something to cut your biscuits (knife, dough cutter, etc)
How to:
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Mix the dry ingredients. Separately, make the buttermilk or measure out the buttermilk.
Add the buttermilk to the dry mix.
Mix dough just until combined.
Melt the butter in the microwave using a microwave-safe dish.
Pour melted butter into 9x13 pan. Add dough to the pan and spread out to edges. Butter will come up over the top of the dough, and that's OK.
Cut biscuit dough to form 12 biscuits.
Bake for 45-50 minutes until biscuits are golden brown.
