Low-and-Slow Ribs

This is more of a process and than a recipe. For the seasonings, just use whatever you have on hand. I use a mix of whatever I have and they always turn out great. You'll learn as you go, and that's really why we're here!

Pork ribs:

Look for rib slabs that have good meat coverage over all of the bones. If you have bones that are exposed, they might fall out during cooking. They'll still be edible if that happens, it's just the presentation that's affected, so don't worry too much if that happens. The bones do add falvor and moisture to the meat, but it's still ok if they fall out at some point.

Considerations:

Prep time: 10 minutes

Baking time: about 5 hours

Total time from start to finish: 5 hours and 10 minutes

What you need:

Food Items:

1 rack of pork ribs

About 2-3 TBS mixed seasonings (use rubs, or a mix of salt, herbs, and spices)

Optional: soy sauce, liquid smoke, candied jalapenos with juice.

Other options: maple syrup, molasses, brown sugar

Equipment

Baking sheet

Foil

Optional: silicone basting brush (I use it to spread the seasonings around)

How to:

Preheat your oven to 300 degrees. Season your ribs however you like and wrap them in foil. Place them on a baking sheet and bake for about 5 hours. Unwrap, cut, and serve.
